a little downfall...
so i just found out that the website my recipient sent me last week, that provides financial assistance towards the donation process is unable to help because i needed to apply for it before the date of surgery :(
oh well.

I am so sorry to hear that your reimbursement would be denied! And after all you have given and gone through...maybe us blog followers could start a petition!!
I am surprised that your recipient's insurance does not cover your expenses. I seem to recall that my insurance kicked in whereever my wife's donor's insurance left off. I don't think my wife's donor had to pay anything out of pocket - except maybe for some followup care. Of course that was 10 years ago, when health care was somewhat less mangled - er, I mean "managed". IMO, it would be a shame if you had to spend even a penny out of your own pocket for the donation process. You should check about having all of your bills sent to your recipient's insurance company.
